The Souter Charitable Trust was set up by Sir Brian Souter and his wife Betty in 1992. The trust assists projects for the relief of human suffering in the UK and overseas, particularly, but not exclusively, those promoting spiritual welfare.

The trust tends not to get involved with research or capital funding and is more interested in providing contributions towards the revenue costs of a project.

Grants are generally given to charitable organisations and not to individuals or in support of requests on behalf of individuals.
